Planning Your Wedding
Planning a wedding is probably one of the most stressful times in a person’s life.
Most likely you are getting more tips and suggestions than you actually need and just as likely not as much help as you’d like.
Here are a few more, but unlike your mother and school friends, you can stop reading whenever you like or not take any of them to heart; that’s a plus, right? Wedding Planning Books to Give You Ideas!
Wedding Organization Plan
Establishing an organizational plan from the beginning is imperative. A simple notebook will do, but an actual wedding planner is best. Often these will come equipped with a checklist of sorts that you can use to make sure you don’t forget to order the flowers.
Having more than one notebook or else trying to remember everything in your head will lead to disaster as many brides have found out.
Wedding Venue Booking
Venue booking is also another of the larger issues. One suggestion is to simply book your event as far out as possible. In other words this should probably be your very second step.
Often couples will set a date before they even book the hall, church or even ask if they can use grandma’s pasture. This type of rush-rush behavior is no way to start a life together. If you can’t get the facilities you wanted, then perhaps you should move the date to when you can get the perfect venue.
Often a couple will pick a date and try to fit everything else around them, I’m sorry, but the best way to look at it is that you booked a venue and everything needs to work around THAT. Failing to do so causes even more stress than is needed, and will often lead to disappointment.
Wedding Themes
Themed weddings are becoming more and more popular these days.
People are getting married underwater by Elvis, skydiving with Army chaplains and it won’t be long before folks will figure out how to say “I do” in orbit.
While these types of weddings are fun, they can be a nightmare to organize.
Theme Wedding Favors
Having the Right Wedding Favors is one of the things that will add to the ambiance of the occasion. Make sure you stick within the loose framework of your theme, but do not get obsessive about it.
If your theme is butterflies, then stick loosely with that theme. Flowers and maybe even some other things along the line of butterflies could be added. By doing nothing but butterflies you run the risk of having your wedding look a lot like a 12 year old girl’s room.
Wedding Invitations
Invitations are one of the things that can be a snagging point, especially when doing a themed wedding. While local shops might seem like an answer, other than actually being able to hold a piece of paper stock in your hands, they often do not have everything the bride and groom are looking for.
The Internet offers an option in finding unique invitations, save the date cards, and other paper needs. Not only can ordering wedding invitations online save a lot of money, the turnaround time is often faster than a local printer and the selection is often larger.
Wedding Reception
For the reception make sure that you make it memorable by putting your own special touch on things.
This day belongs to the bride and groom. Keeping the guests happy will make the occasion that much more memorable.
You will want to ensure that the event goes off without a hitch, at least a hitch no one will care much about.
Possible suggestions to think about with a wedding reception would be:
- Lighting
- DJ/Band
- Videographer/Photographer (Some services offer both at a discounted price)
- Menu (Keep it simple)
- Seating
Remember that this is your wedding and planning the wedding you’ve been envisioning will help it all come true. Make sure you comparative shop whenever possible when planning your own wedding. Someone will appreciate it.
